Horticultural Machinery CENTRE MANAGER - IMMEDIATE START

We have an exciting opportunity for a person to lead and manage the overall operation or our Horticultural Machinery Centre.  The Garden Centre Manager will work alongside the Directors and an experienced team of Technicians.  You will have overall responsibility for the commercial performance of the centre and for ensuring the efficient running of the workshop, supplier relationships, sales and team performance. 

A key aspect of this role is overseeing the lifecycle of machinery sales from purchasing to stock management and after sales service.

We are looking for the following qualities in our chosen candidate.

• Minimum of 3 years proven managerial experience ideally in the Machinery sales and servicing sectors 
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work with EPOS systems and digital stock control
• Attention to detail and a forward-thinking ethos.
• Ability to demonstrate a professional, enthusiastic and flexible approach.
• Able to demonstrate leadership and promote excellent team work
• Is responsive to challenges and demonstrates a ‘can do’ approach.
• Able to work pragmatically with suppliers and adapt to changing retail conditions

Key responsibilities:

• Being at the forefront for purchasing decisions, and liaising with associates and buyers to maintain product ranges.
• Oversee stock management in terms of quantity, cost and retail pricing
• Manage the resources responsible for running the Machinery Shop and the Service/Repair workshop. 
• Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate cover 
• Ensure clear and positive communication is delivered to all employees.
• Liaise with the HR department to gain insight, information and coaching in people management. Working in line with policies set out in the Employee Handbook.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role

 Salary  From: £35,000  per year.
