Pickering - Garden Centre Retail Assistant IMMEDIATE START
Our Garden Centre Team are looking for a confident and efficient Retail Assistant who will provide our Customers with a positive shopping experience both face to face and on the phone. Each of our staff are given responsibility for specific areas of the Garden Centre, such as Pets, clothing, gifts or garden furniture; which brings variety to your job role and allows you to develop product selection and ordering skills.
In this role you will be supporting the Garden Centre Manager in developing our Farm Shop and Homeware area within the Garden Centre.
You will be responsible for the look and feel of the Garden Centre Farm Shop and associated home/kitchenware products; ensuring that we have the correct products, that they are always fresh and are effectively merchandised to optimise sales. You will have an opportunity to attend trade shows to source new products. Enthusiasm, customer-focus and communication are key attributes for this role as you will be working as part of a team in a busy work environment.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assisting Customers at the Till points and throughout the Garden Centre.
- Developing the Farm Shop and Homeware sections; through sourcing products, ordering, merchandising and stock control of those areas.
- Working closely with the Garden Centre Manager to develop strategy for the promotion and development of those sections.
- Attending shows to select new product lines
- Helping in the Plant Area and using your creative skills to help with merchandising all areas of the shop.
