Do I need a base for my greenhouse?
In most cases, yes, a base is strongly recommended. A purpose-made greenhouse base makes installation far easier, ensures the structure sits level, and provides long-term stability. This helps protect both the frame and the glazing over time.
If your greenhouse is being installed onto an existing solid surface such as a concrete pad, brick base, or wall-mounted foundation, you may not require a separate steel base. However, where no suitable foundation already exists, a proper base is the safest and most straightforward option.
Occasionally, a base may be included free of charge as part of a special offer. If this applies, there is no need to add a base to your order—it will be supplied and shipped automatically with your greenhouse.
Do I need professional installation?
All greenhouses are supplied with full instructions and many customers do successfully install them themselves. However, installation does require time, careful preparation, and suitable weather conditions. Many customers choose professional installation for added convenience and peace of mind. If you do opt for installation for your Icon 6 greenhouse, it is essential that the area is fully prepared ahead of time. This means the ground must be level, clear of debris, and easily accessible for the installation team.
